The most important lesson any trader learns is to cut their losses. Cutting losses seems like an easy thing to achieve, yet not cutting losses is the root cause of all significant trading loss.

Learning to cut losing positions is much more important than developing a trading system or strategy. I started to make money as a floor trader when I made cutting my losses my priority.

I also found that once I had my losses under firm control, I started to relax as a trader and I made observations about the market that led me to greater success.
